People use the term "epic" if a movie, game or book is set on a grand scale, which is typically a huge characteristic of an Epic.
The Iliad and the Odyssey, Beowulf, the story of Troy, all of them are Epics because of the type of adventure or stories that they tell. Movies and games have become attached to that form of story-telling with updated settings and themes, but using the term "Epic" when describing "Spider-man 2, Halo, The Lord of the Rings, ...
Why in hell do articles like this make it onto this site. Any Halo fan that knows 20% percent about the story could tell you as soon as the game was announced that Reach would be a place "Never Seen Before".
I think Mass Effect 2 looks better than Uncharted 1 actually. Both are linear Third Person games and i think Mass Effect 2 has the edge both artistically and technically.
A video game developer and fan giving his opinion on another game is talking too much? Maybe you should think about if you talk too much next time you express your opinion about anything at all.
He just doesnt think that a game that heavily borrows from Indiana Jones isnt the best game ever, despite the gameplay and the graphics being good.
Most of you are commenting on his weight and body features rather than addressing his points of why he doesnt like the PS3.
Im sure not all of you are overweight, but i can bet most of you cant run a marathon either.
Figboy is my freakin hero.
Star Wars: Battlefront 3?
Kotor 3?
Republic Commando 2?
A new Jedi Knight?
And a little less of The Force Unleashed 2....*cough* Lucasarts....
Medium settings in the first Crysis were still really good, and people who played the original Crysis would know that.
Remember way back when people criticized Crysis 2 because they saw a couple gameplay screens that looked all low-rez and had jagged polys everywhere? Yea, the game was incomplete, and these screens look like theyre from a more recent build. Theyre gorgeous.
Just sayin'.
IGN states on every review that the total score is not an average.
and they could have came up with a lot more, such as Nathan Fillion from Halo 3: ODST. He was in the show Firefly, and the movie Serenity. He was also the guy who picks a fight with Brendan Fraser in the movie Blast from the Past. The character Mickey in ODST is also voiced by Alan Tudyk, who played Steve The Pirate in the movie Dodgeball.
The article should have absolutely listed Fred Tatasciore, whovoiced Saren in Mass Effect, Baird in Gears of War, numerous zombies in Left...
Hes right. Infinity Ward made COD2 in 2005, then Treyarch made COD3 in 2006. During that time, Infinity Ward made COD4 and released it in 2007. During that time, Treyarch was making COD:WaW, which came out it 2008. Then Modern Warfare 2 was released in 2009 by Infinity Ward. There is only a one year gap between COD games, but the is a two-year development cycle for each studio that makes the COD games. Each studio has two years to make their addition, and the are released in-between each othe...
how do you know that RDR will be that much different than GTA IV? Whats going to be the main concept of the game? Run around and do errand missions, kill random civilians when your bored, ride horses and get into chases on horses instead of cars...sigh....visit whore houses instead of strip clubs, watch random occurrences like stage-coach robberies instead of muggings or police chases, western weapons instead of modern weapons...etc.
You tried to single me out and make me loo...
GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption are both made by Rockstar Games. Get your facts straight.
I usually wait for three reviewers to review a game. IGN, Gamespot, and 1up. So far IGN has given it a 9.0, Gamespot gave it an 8.5, so now im waiting on 1up. That normally gives me a good idea of whether i should buy a game or not, however ive been sold on this title for a little while now.
I honestly do not see the point of all of this, i really dont. If some people find this interesting, im happy for them. But games with sub-HD resolutions have proven to still be beautiful. Metal Gear Solid 4 has a 640p resolution, and it still looked superb. The fact that Halo 3 used a graphics engine that wasnt as up to date as it should have been did not top me from still thinking that it had a gorgeous art style and great lighting effects.

but i had a blast grabbing Koreans by the throat and throwing them with "Maximum Strength", then turning on "Maximum Speed" and taking off through the jungle to flank a jeep and blow the hell out if it and nearby beach sheds. Add in that most things were destructible, the game had gorgeous visuals, attachments for weapons, and playing on Delta difficulty was a pretty huge challenge, and you have a more than solid FPS.
Killzone 2 was the same thing if thats your opinion on the first Crysis. Except is was mostly black. At least Crysis had a color scheme.
You have no clue what true quality is, youve just proven that to me. Bungie is among the top developers, because they stay extremely close to their community in a way that no other developer cares to do.
Halo 3 can be a racing game, a zombie defense game, a super competitive Unreal Tournament style shooter, you can play Pac-Man, bumper cars, obstacle courses, Grifball, and sooooo much more crazy gametypes that changes the way you play it radically. Little Big Planet is always a r...
Art Direction is where you look at just a small portion of a game or movie universe and you KNOW its that game.
When i see a structure in Halo, i KNOW its from Halo instantly. When i see a weapon or vehiclefrom Star Wars, i KNOW its from Star Wars. When i see just a smudge of a level from Mario, i know its from Mario.
Uncharted 2 is technically very, very good. However, if i look at a piece of Uncharted's universe, im confused as to whether its from India...
